Drew Eilers is a Canadian born artist. Drew attended art college in Toronto where he studied drawing, design and animation.
As a contemporary expressionist painter Drew mainly works in acrylic mediums on mid to large scale canvases. His passion for art has been greatly influenced by the abstract expressionist movement of the 1950's and 60's. From a personal aesthetic point of view, His visual approach is influenced by such luminaries as Pollock, DeKooning, Basquiat and contemporary painters such as Baselitz and Richter.
Drew approaches the canvas with a bold gestural method, Using robust brush strokes and expressive, extemporaneous mark making. This results in a spontaneous, improvisational process which gives his work a sense of emotion and expressive rhythm.
Drew has had solo exhibitions and has sold pieces to collectors in both Canada and the United States. He currently resides in Calgary, Canada.
